Mystic AI by Freepik – The Ultimate MidJourney Killer?
Freepik and Magnific AI have just launched Mystic, a new AI image generator that’s blowing past what other tools can do. Some are even wondering if it could dethrone MidJourney as the go-to tool for AI-generated art.

Martin LeBlank, a PM at Freepik, shared some images from the Mystic model, and they’re jaw-dropping. The level of detail and realism is unrecognizable from high-quality photos, hinting that Mystic could potentially surpass current leaders like Midjourney in photo-realism and Dall-E 3 in precise prompt representation.
He also explained a bit more about Mystic’s market position:
“The gap to Midjourney’s lead in quality is closing. Some say Mystic is now comparable or superior in quality to Midjourney. As the gap in quality closes we will increasingly compete on other factors: Price, Control, Ease of use, Distribution.”
